Working with wood has been an integral part of
my life since I was 15 years old. In the last 35 years I’ve
encountered everything from yacht building to heavy construction.
During this time I have always had a reverence for wood. This
reverence along with exposure to copias types and species formed
a passionate affinity for certain favorites of my own. Realizing
this passion and mechanically working with wood created a desire
in me to educate myself on the processes of manufacturing, drying,
machining, and understanding wood. With this new knowledge and
interest, starting a lumber business seemed like a natural progression.
When I was a young boy my father bought and sold lumber from
a concentration yard. We were always visiting small ground mills
around rural Virginia. This background experience helped me
to build relationships with loggers, landowners, foresters,
timber companies, and saw mills in procuring specified logs
and lumber. I feel like if it’s out there I can find it
and buy it. It’s not easy, but I’m very confident
in my ability to obtain obscure resources. I then take them
to their highest and best use so that my customers can enjoy
the warm, rich appearance, texture and in some cases even the
plesant aroma of our products.
It is my hope that if you do choose to buy from us that you
will get the same esthetic satisfaction from the product that
I do. I know you’ll be happy with the quality.
